To support this service, the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff, including teachers, principals, vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, and exempt managerial staff.
The Greater Victoria School District (SD61) is seeking an Information Systems Network Administrator. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure to support the educational and administrative needs of the district. This role involves analyzing existing systems, defining requirements, proposing technological changes, and providing technical support to staff.
The position involves leading projects independently or as a project manager, which include significant business and technical analysis, scripting/software development, system configuration, security management, and performance optimization to enhance network infrastructure. The environment is dynamic, with shifting priorities and short timelines, supporting mission-critical systems.
This position is within the CUPE collective agreement, offering a pay rate of $43.13 per hour, plus benefits after probation. Work hours are 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
