Purpose

The Information Services Manager is responsible for providing technical oversight, expertise and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves implementing and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems while supporting ongoing projects and initiatives. The Information Services Manager works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient technology solutions.

  • Oversee and participate in the deployment, configuration, and secure implementation of hardware and software across the organization.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for all IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage local network, server infrastructure and security systems.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and anomalies using security tools.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily operational activities within the environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to the IT team, fostering growth through training and skilled development.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect organizational systems and data.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans and risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, NIST, CIS)
  • Support incident response efforts and ensure logging, monitoring and alerting systems are configures and effective.
  • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery and Cybersecurity plans.
  • Provide technical oversight during the evaluation and implementation of new software to ensure compatibility, security and stability.
  • Participate in execution, building, and testing of infrastructure solutions.

End-User Support

  • Handle high-level IT tickets, server setups, software updates, and ensure daily IT operations run smoothly.
  • Ensure timely and effective support for end-users, addressing technical issues and providing training as needed.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness and safe technology usage practices among users.
  • Collaborate on the delivery of projects involving the deployment of infrastructure, cybersecurity controls and applications.
  • Ensure adherence to project management standards, including documentation, reporting, and communication.

Emerging Technologies and Knowledge Sharing

  • Stay updated on new and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements. Particularly in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud services.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Oversee asst management process to ensure accurate inventory, effective utilization and compliance with organization policies.
  • Participation in security compliance and auditing processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure solutions, configurations, and processes.
  • Provide cybersecurity and usage reports to management monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and organizational standards.
Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT trends, cybersecurity and emerging technologies, including AI
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside the team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, maintaining accuracy and focus in high-pressure environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
  • IT experience in complex environments with distributed sites including:
    • 5+ years of experience in a Level 3, Senior IT Administrator role or similar.
    • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint and Active Directory.
    • Experience working with internal networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and backup systems.
    • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that Tier 1-2 cannot handle, requiring a deep understanding of hardware, software, and network systems.
    • Manage and maintain operating systems, servers, and network infrastructure, including user management, system configuration, and applying security updates.
    • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls; troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize performance.
    • Set up and manage data backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability, and recover data in case of deletion, hardware failure, or other disasters.
    • Document troubleshooting steps, system configurations, and network changes, and generate reports for management when needed.
    • Work closely with Tier 1-2 technicians, and system administrators to resolve issues and implement IT projects.
    • Use strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent support to end-users and ensure customer satisfaction.
