Job summary

NES Fircroft— Calgary-based Information Management Specialist role focused on developing and managing project information and document control systems for engineering, projects and operations. Based in Calgary, you will ensure controlled, accessible, reliable information across the site.

You will oversee version control, metadata standards, handover to operations, and support collaboration platforms like SharePoint, with a strong emphasis on quality and compliance in industrial capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in information management or document control for industrial capital projects.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems and collaboration platforms used in engineering and project environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of configuration control for technical documents.
  • Experience supporting handover of documentation to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer information management and document control systems to support engineering, projects, and operations.
  • Develop and maintain information management procedures, metadata standards, and filing structures.
  • Coordinate receipt, review, distribution, and archiving of documents from engineering service providers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure version control, traceability, and security of critical project information, including P&IDs, specifications, vendor data, and contracts.
  • Support configuration of collaboration platforms and repositories (e.g., SharePoint or equivalent) for project teams.
  • Manage master records including master equipment and line lists.
  • Ensure engineering information relied on by operations reflects field as-built conditions through stewardship of redlining and as-building processes.
  • Generate document status reports and support audits, quality checks, and handover to operations.
  • Work with IT and project leadership to align information management with long-term operational data needs.
