Job Title: ETL Test Lead
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled ETL Test Lead to spearhead our data testing initiatives. This role requires a strong background in ETL processes, data warehousing, and comprehensive testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of ETL testers, defining test strategies, and ensuring the quality and integrity of data across our systems. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of ETL testers, providing technical guidance and support. Define, develop, and implement comprehensive ETL test strategies, plans, and cases. Oversee the execution of various ETL testing types, including data validation, data integrity, transformation logic, performance, and regression testing. Collaborate closely with ETL developers, data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure test coverage. Design and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and comparison between source and target systems. Identify, document, and track defects, working with development teams for resolution. Develop and maintain ETL testing frameworks and automation scripts. Ensure adherence to data quality standards and best practices throughout the data lifecycle. Report on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to project leadership. Contribute to continuous improvement of ETL testing processes and methodologies.
Required Skills: 5+ years of experience in ETL testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role. Strong expertise in data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling. Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and validation. Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica IDMC, Talend, SSIS) and understanding of their testing implications. Solid understanding of various ETL testing methodologies and best practices. Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with automated ETL testing tools (e.g., QuerySurge, Informatica Data Validation Option). Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse). Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for test automation. Understanding of CICD pipelines in a data engineering context. Relevant certifications in data warehousing, ETL, or testing.
