INFIRMIER(ÈRE) EN DISPENSAIRE- OUTPOST NURSE

Job Description

Person who, in addition to their duties as a nurse, assesses users in the absence of a permanent doctor at the outpost or dispensary, enabling remote diagnosis and appropriate interventions. Performs activities usually reserved for doctors in other settings.

Must be a member of the Order of Nurses of Quebec.

Specific Functions

Identify health needs, contribute to diagnostic methods, provide and monitor nursing care for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, following the UTHC collective prescription guide. Work across various CLSC programs: child monitoring, perinatal care, vaccination, STI, school health, home care, routine, and emergency care. Participate in on-call emergency rotations. Perform other related tasks.

Specific Requirements
  • Member in good standing with the O.I.I.Q.
  • Successfully completed training in Rôle Élargi and/or have experience in community health and isolated posts.
  • Experience in emergency and obstetrics is a major asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Weekly Premiums

Based on workplace and family situation: MINIMUM Living Cost: $74.17, REMOTE Work: $227.69, RETENTION: $438.10.

  • Positions may involve a selection process including tests and interviews.
  • Priority given to candidates benefiting from the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement.
  • Recruits in Quebec more than 50 km from their work location are entitled to annual trips and provided lodging, with shared or transit options if needed.
