Job description

Manitoulin Centennial Manor has the following position available:

INFECTION PREVENTION & CONTROL (IPAC)/QUALITY MANAGER

Permanent Full-Time

Candidates are invited to apply for this Full-Time position to work at ourManitoulin Centennial Manor, a 60-bed long-term care facility, located in Little Current, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the IPAC/Quality Manager will oversee the IPAC and quality improvement programs.

Responsibilities:

Leads the LTC home’s IPAC program

Ensure the IPAC program in the home is consistent with provincial standards and best practices

Train staff, residents and care providers on IPAC standards and practices

Conduct IPAC audits and risk assessments in the home, developing corrective plans and actions

Other responsibilities as related to IPAC in the home

Additional Responsibilities Include:

Oversee quality teams

Reviewing quality indicators

Working with staff to improve quality within the home

Qualifications:

Education and experience in IPAC practices including infectious diseases, cleaning and disinfection, data collection and trend analysis, reporting protocols, outbreak management, asepsis, microbiology, adult education, epidemiology and program management.

LTC home operational experience, considered an asset.

Certification in infection control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology or willing to obtain Certification.

Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.
