Position Overview
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years full time nursing experience, including 2 years in IP&C.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in adult education.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate in Infection Prevention & Control or willingness to acquire.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current active practice registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Canadian Safety Association (CSA) Standards Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult education, teaching and learning strategies.
  • Current knowledge in epidemiology, microbiology, statistics and infection control best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of policy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services/quality improvement and staff empowerment.

  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Physical Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
