Position Title: Industry Specialist
Hours: 35 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Student Success and Engagement
Campus/Location: North Campus
About the Industry Specialist Role:
Under the direction of the Manager, Industry and Business Development, the Industry Specialist utilizes an entrepreneurial mindset, effective sales and conversion tools and techniques, to generate viable industry leads and support their conversion to active industry partnerships for their assigned Faculty, in service of employment pathways for our graduates and in service of achieving all established targets.
The Industry Specialist’s priority is to work collaboratively with their faculty and campus partners to identify programs or areas in need of business development and create targeted growth opportunities for strategically important segments with a specific focus on new programs, at-risk programs, equity deserving groups, and other Faculty-driven initiatives.
The Industry Specialist is focused on actively bringing in new, quality employer leads and will contribute to business development initiatives, including targeted business development campaigns in a particular region or industry, for a particular faculty, program, or equity deserving group, as well as supporting the creation of business development presentations, resources, and tools. With the guidance of their Manager, the Industry Specialist will identify industry priorities based on economic forecasting, employment data, and industry trends, in tandem with Faculty and program priorities that face the greatest need. They will assist in the creation and execution of a targeted strategic plan specific to their assigned Faculty which will lend itself to strengthened ties with Industry and improve Humber’s student employment outcome targets.
