THE OPPORTUNITY

The Market Research Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing market data, maintaining assigned databases, and preparing presentations. The position also requires leading and conducting customized ad-hoc projects per clients’ requirements, completing customized data modeling and providing in-depth analysis, and addressing specific questions from clients. Additionally, the analyst is responsible for interacting with clients and other companies to gather data, responding to customer inquiries, and communicating updated content. TechInsights is looking for a qualified and motivated individual with a strong database and mobile market research background to join our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) team as an Industry Analyst, primarily focused on the smartphone industry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Research company activity, market drivers and technology developments around smartphone and mobile device industry and ecosystem, to gain a deep understanding for current and emerging industry trends. This will include analysis at a hardware, software, supply side, and demand side across the entire industry and ecosystem / value chain.
• Conduct primary and secondary research and consolidate data from multiple sources.
• Lead and conduct customized ad-hoc projects per clients’ requirements.
• Research, write and publish reports on smartphone market trends on a timely basis.
• Client Inquiry support - prioritize and respond to customer requests.
• Support global / regional and country level forecasts and analysis by providing detailed insight into market trends
• Perform analysis as needed
• Research and collect data about smartphone and mobile device markets by utilizing in-house custom surveys, searching the internet, reviewing public company earnings, participating in analyst days, reading press releases, and many other sources including summits, events, and emails
• Update company models with segment revenues and price tier brackets
• Analyze financial statements of companies in smartphone, mobile device and related industries
• Maintain and update customized databases to cater key clients’ needs
• Collaborate with other analysts and IT to effectively manage and communicate results to customers

WHO YOU ARE

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 2-3 years of working experience in the mobile industry, with project implementation skills
• Strong quantitative, logic, qualitative research skills
• Ability to analyze the financial statements of public companies
• Expertise in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Polished written and oral communication skills
• Ability to write short form research and blogs (in English)
• Prefer experience with relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL
• Prefer experience with excel macros and basic knowledge of VBA
• Motivated to learn about the emerging technologies and trends around mobile industries
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus, but not a requirement
