Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Security Specialist, supporting TOS II, at Tunnel 9 in White Oak, Maryland. The Industrial Security Specialist will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating Arnold Engineering & Development Complex’s (AEDC) Hypervelocity Tunnel No. 9 (Tunnel 9) in Silver Spring, MD.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide multi-disciplined security support for AEDC Tunnel 9 security programs at all classification levels. They must be self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of effectively articulating and presenting comprehensive security-based recommendations in support of Tunnel 9’s industrial security program.

Job Duties:

  • Support test program security management, including the development and implementation of test security plans.
  • Support all construction planning efforts, providing security expertise from the requirements phase through design, construction, and occupancy.
  • Serve as an auxiliary Construction Site Security Manager, overseeing security operations at construction sites.
  • Establish and maintain the facility’s physical security requirements in accordance with ICD 705 standards. (Thorough knowledge of ICD 705 is required or must be attained.) Manage TEMPEST accreditation documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Government to update and maintain Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans, ensuring compliance with annual regulatory changes.
  • Manage AECS (Automated Entry Control System) access requirements and administration.
  • Ensure the completion of Facility Checklists for all facilities, including TEMPEST addendums.
  • Research, document, and properly mark and handle sensitive information to ensure deliverables meet stated objectives and security requirements.
  • Train project personnel on security requirements and procedures.
  • Establish and enforce security protocols in work areas designated for test projects.
  • Validate entry authorization lists, ensuring only authorized personnel access sensitive areas.
  • Perform pre-test and post-test work area sanitizations to safeguard classified information.
  • Ensure the proper marking of all classified materials, adhering to handling and storage regulations.
  • Process inbound and outbound classified test hardware and documentation, maintaining chain of custody.
  • Perform secure destruction of classified materials according to established procedures.
  • Process and maintain accountability for classified documents and magnetic media.
  • Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Employees are required to wear company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes analogous military experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively and professionally with government officials, senior management, associate contractors, and client representatives.
  • Proactive, positive, and innovative, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired.
  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO), a Security Specialist directly supporting an FSO, or in a security-related role within intelligence, law enforcement, or a public or private-sector security organization.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense or Air Force regulations.
  • Formal or specialized training in industrial security, physical security, information protection, criminal justice, industrial relations, personnel and resource management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills for effective and professional interactions.
  • Proactive, positive, innovative, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while consistently maintaining availability and dependability.
