Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a plant mechanic to perform repairs, prefab work, and preventative maintenance across the MR Plant site. The position offers an hourly wage of $33.87.

Key duties include following lockout procedures, inspecting equipment, maintaining inventories, and assisting mill service personnel as needed. Relevant welding tickets and industrial mechanic experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance supply inventories.
• Assist mill service personnel when needed and support production.
• Ensure tools and parts are properly stored after use.
• Report any dust emissions and fluid spills or leaks promptly.
• Communicate with suppliers for parts ordering when requested.

Job Overview: Hourly wage of $33.87

The plant mechanics job is to carry out repairs, prefab work, and preventative maintenance and repair assessment. The responsibilities encompass the entire plant site.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate under direction of plant supervision.
• Perform repairs to structural and non-structural equipment around the MR Plant and assist with non-mechanical duties such as welding repairs.
• Follow lockout procedures and ensure the work area is safe and free of debris.
• Ensure that all guards are in place in the immediate work area and inspect equipment for damage or leaks and report accordingly.
• Maintain maintenance supply inventories.
• Assist the plant personnel when needed (i.e. short-staffed on production).
• Ensure the work area is clean and tidy and the inventory storage area is organized and be responsible for ensuring all tools and parts that you use get put away.
• Report any dust emissions as well as all fluid spills or leaks from any equipment or the MR plant.
• Assist mill service vehicles when required – they have top priority.
• Maintain any required welding or trade certificates in good standing.
• Know, understand and follow plant, torch, equipment, or other lockout procedures. Each equipment unit now has an individual lockout procedure that must be followed.
• When needed or requested, communicate with suppliers regarding part ordering for quote purposes or fulfillment of part orders.
