Alstar Group is seeking an Industrial Paint/Blast Supervisor to work day shift in our SE Calgary facility (8700 Venture Ave SE; not transit accessible).

Who Are You:

The Industrial Paint/Blast Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that work is safe, estimating and ordering paint quantities, and ensuring all waste is stored and disposed of properly and achieving the required outcomes.

The Paint/Blast Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager within the context and prescribed limits established by the Construction Manager and the Alstar Group of Companies' policies and guidelines.

What We're Looking For From You - If This Describes You, We'd Love To Meet!

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, preferably within industrial or construction environments
  • CSTS-09/2020 or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) ticket is mandatory
  • Proven commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication, attitude, collaborative skills and ability to follow directions
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads driven by project demands and scheduling needs

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure all work areas are set up safely and efficiently to promote smooth workflow
  • Accurately estimate and order paint and blasting materials
  • Oversee proper storage and disposal of all waste materials in compliance with regulations
  • Supervise, train, and mentor workers, promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures
  • Train workers and ensure that they are following safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain equipment in safe and reliable condition
  • Estimate job hours to support project planning and execution
  • Act as a proactive advocate for Alstar Group's values and standards within the workplace
