Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a reliable Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for our Kedgwick Sawmill in New Brunswick.

The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment in a production environment, with welding in all positions and a strong emphasis on safety and quality. Candidates should have an Industrial Mechanic diploma (Bloc 1 or higher) and 2–5 years of industrial experience, with willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Industrial Mechanic diploma (Bloc 1 or higher) required.
• 2–5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Sawmill experience is an asset and French communication ability is required.
• Must meet JDI selection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment in a production setting.
• Perform SMAW and FCAW welding in all positions.
• Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Repair or replace chains, belts, gearboxes, hydraulics, and more using electronic tools.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
