Overview

CGC Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice Co-op for our Hagersville facility. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures in an industrial environment is required. CGC Inc., a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings, is a wholly owned subsidiary of USG Corp. We are a global organization with the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Assist with corrective action and required repairs. Conduct planned preventive and predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
  • Apply proficient mechanical understanding to maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize general welding and fabrication knowledge as needed.
  • Participate in a preventative maintenance program and contribute to reliability improvements.
  • Work indoors and outdoors as required and be available to work weekends as needed.
Qualifications
  • Working toward a Millwright certification is required.
  • Knowledge of mill equipment, conveyors, and packaging equipment is an asset.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work safely.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented team player with strong written and verbal communication skills; well organized with a positive attitude.
