Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanician to fill a position at our Metcalfe facility, Southern Ottawa. The candidate must be available to work on day shift during week or weekend, when required.

The incumbent will be mainly responsible for the reliability and good functioning of machines, equipment, and systems.

More specifically, he or she will be a self-starter, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, program, and lead the preventative maintenance on mechanical components under his or her responsibility.

The incumbent will also be involved in parts inventory, lead mechanical shutdowns, reporting, record keeping, housekeeping, and safety improvements.

Qualifications and requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics
  • Electric competency
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an industrial environment
