Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanician to fill a position at our Metcalfe facility, Southern Ottawa. The candidate must be available to work on day shifts during the week or weekends, when required.

The incumbent will be mainly responsible for ensuring the reliability and proper functioning of machines, equipment, and systems.

More specifically, he or she will be a self-starter, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, program, and lead preventative maintenance on mechanical components under their responsibility.

The incumbent will also be involved in parts inventory, leading mechanical shutdowns, reporting, record keeping, housekeeping, and safety improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics
  • Electric competency
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an industrial environment
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
  • Machining experience
  • Knowledge of arc/tig welding
  • Ability to interpret mechanical parts
  • Experience with hand tools
