Job summary

Altium Packaging in Montreal is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to install, repair and maintain blow mold and related equipment while upholding safety standards.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and work with other departments to keep lines running smoothly. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and basic math/computer skills; forklift cert may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace hoses; inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines.
• Communicate with other departments regularly.
• Duties may vary by plant design.

Industrial Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and other related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines.
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Receives instructions on specific job task by Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
• Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Experience

• Basic mathematical skills are required.

• Completion of Altium Industrial Maintenance Technician I training.

Work Environment

Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
