Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Assembler to join their team. This role involves ensuring quality workmanship in assembling sub-assemblies and main assemblies for industrial equipment. Job description

Position Overview: The Assembler is responsible for quality workmanship with assemblies work as assigned for sub-assemblies and main assemblies.


Days of work: Monday-Friday. 6am-230pm.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembler I:

  1. Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe.
  2. Follow proper detailing procedure/work instructions.
  3. Proper use of the sandblaster.
  4. Drill and tap holes.
  5. Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”.
  6. Fill out applicable check sheets.
  7. Ensure quality of work by showing an eye for detail.
  8. Clock in and out of work orders and report completed work to Foreman.
  9. Ensure materials are properly tracked and allocated to each job for costing purposes.
  10. Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job.
  11. Identify areas for improvement and the use of non-conformance reports.
  12. Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
  13. Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
  14. Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
  15. Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
  16. Complete all applicable quality records.
  17. Perform work by CEC-documented policies and procedures.
  18. Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  1. Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.

Physical:
  1. Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other:
  1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  3. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
