Industrial Machine Assembler - Level 1

Position Overview:

The Assembler is responsible for ensuring quality workmanship in assembly work, including sub-assemblies and main assemblies.

Days of Work:

Friday - Sunday, 6 am - 6:30 pm, with a weekend gross-up.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipes.
2. Follow proper detailing procedures and work instructions.
3. Properly use the sandblaster.
4. Drill and tap holes.
5. Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”.
6. Fill out applicable check sheets.
7. Ensure quality of work with attention to detail.
8. Clock in and out of work orders and report completed work to the Foreman.
9. Track and allocate materials to each job for costing purposes.
10. Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job.
11. Identify areas for improvement and use non-conformance reports.
12. Understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
13. Follow safe work procedures and act safely at all times.
14. Use required protective clothing, devices, and equipment.
15. Complete all applicable quality records.
16. Perform work according to CEC-documented policies and procedures.
17. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Grade 12 or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
