Overview

Industrial Hydrovac Swamper or Class 3 Driver

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment:

  • Drug and alcohol testing (Urine-based test)
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Industrial Hydrovac Swamper Responsibilities
  • Maintain consistent communication with the operator both verbally and using hand signals.
  • Continually scan the work area for potentially hazardous conditions or changing conditions.
  • Complete all required field and shop paperwork including field level hazard assessments and behavior-based observation cards.
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operation.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
  • This is a general responsibilities list and does not include all responsibilities required of the position.
Industrial Hydrovac Swamper Qualifications
  • One (1) year experience as a swamper on a hydrovac truck in an industrial setting is considered an asset.
