Job summary

Koch is seeking a skilled Gasfitter Class A for project-based work to install Industrial Flare in Alberta. The role requires mechanical aptitude, comfort with heights, and experience with combustion equipment and gas piping.

The candidate will review codes, obtain permits, lay out piping, assemble components, coordinate with welders, perform testing, and document work for permit inspections. Travel to field sites regionally is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Gasfitter Class A Journeyperson Certificate.
• Experience with gas piping, fittings, and fuel gas systems.
• Knowledge of Alberta Gas Code and CSA B149 standards.
• Ability to read piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs.
• Willingness to travel regionally and perform field work.

Responsibilities

• Review gas installation against Alberta Gas Code and CSA B149 before commissioning.
• Obtain permits as required.
• Measure, lay out, cut, thread, and fit gas piping.
• Assemble and install pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, regulators.
• Coordinate with welders and crew for field tie-ins.
• Verify field installations against drawings and manufacturer specs.
• Identify gas-system test boundaries and test conditions.
• Perform pressure and leak testing per CSA B149.
• Identify and fix leaks or deficiencies.
• Perform purging and assist fuel gas introduction.
• Complete test/installation docs and support permit inspection.
