Job description

Securiguard is looking for a motivated and experienced Emergency & Prevention Services personnel to work for a high-profile industrial client in Kitimat.

$1000 Signing Bonus *Conditions Apply*

Hours: 12-hour rotational shift work including days, nights, and weekends.

Wage: Starting wages are based upon existing qualifications and experience.

What would you do:

Successful applicants will mainly be responsible for a wide variety of Security, Emergency Services and HSE related duties while also providing "Site Wide Services: in the form of snow clearing/plowing, industrial landscaping, and road maintenance. Members must become fully versed with the clients OH&S program, Environmental Policies, and Marine Security regulations. Officers will treat and record all First Aid incidents in accordance with WSBC regulations and perform dispatch (call center) related duties. Report writing and multitasking are an everyday occurrence.

Members must also adhere to a physical fitness standard which is tested semi-annually. Officers must work in a fast paced, team environment as well as be able to work individually. Members will participate in Monthly Fire/ Rescue, Confined Space, High Angle, and medical training scenarios.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates will bring with them the certifications/experience outlined below. However, training and certifications will be provided to candidates who have an aptitude and desire to learn and grow with the team

  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • Fire Fighter 10.01 & 10.02
  • BST (Basic Security Training) including a valid Security License
  • Valid OFA 3 or EMR Certificate
  • Ability to Pass an Oral Fluid Drug Test
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Equipment Operator Certificate (or relevant experience)
  • Experience working at heights and/or in confined spaces

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Self-motivated; demonstrated ability to produce results while working independently.
  • Proven strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • MARSEC clearance training an asset.
  • Leadership skills and experience is an asset.
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License with Air Brakes and a clean driver's abstract; access to or possession of vehicle to get to and from site.
  • ICS 100 & 200.
  • Ability to pass a Fire Fighter Physical Exam during the probationary period.
  • Strong communicator with assertive interpersonal skills and team player are critical to success.
  • Strong problem-solving, logical thinking and team player abilities are required.
  • Ability to set and change priorities, manage multiple daily tasks, simultaneously meet multiple deadlines in a faced paced demanding role.
  • This is a position that requires a high energy individual who can always multitask and is able to work long hours as required.
  • Considerable standing, walking, climbing, pulling will be performed when deployed at site.
  • Be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Confident in operating a vehicle in all weather conditions.
