Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Equipment Technician to join our client in Kimberley. This role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of industrial machinery to ensure uptime and safety.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, and coordinate with production to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of hands-on experience, a relevant trade qualification, and strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance.
• 4–6 years hands-on experience with industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• PLC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, conveyors and control systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools.
• Repair and replace worn components adhering to technical specs.
• Install and commission new industrial equipment as required.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records in the CMMS.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Collaborate with production to minimize operational impact.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Respond quickly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
