Job summary

Optimize processes and procedures of the manufacturing plant by conducting time-studies, estimating costs, and ensuring the plant is operating efficiently.What You'll Do:Establish labor standards and resolve questions relating to job utilization and performance.Present new labour standards to employees and the Union, and present and defend findings when a grievance is filed.Recommends methods for improving workers efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.Restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations / equipment, and purchasing and inventory of equipment.Determine how best to use the work force to achieve maximum productivity.Provides ongoing recommendations for productivity improvement.Establish costs and methods for new styles.Conduct Time Studies of machine operators to determine efficiency and ensure optimal performanceDevelop, monitor and improve our manufacturing process ensuring the highest quality and the lowest cost products are produced using best practices such as Lean Manufacturing.Demonstrate leadership by mentoring production staff and promote knowledge transfer between teams.Maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) executive files with savings for the fiscal yearBe fully competent in Leadtec shop floor control system and be able to train operators and staff in its use.Have a full understanding of LEAN Manufacturing Implementation and utilize the proper toolsWork on automation with the mechanics in the production floor, to optimize processes and reduce costs.Let's Talk About You:Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering is considered an assetAt 3 years of experience as a technologist or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.Experience conducting time studies/cost analysisApparel manufacturing experience preferred.Experience in a union environment is an asset.Hands on experience applying Lean Manufacturing principlesExceptional leadership skills, problem solving abilities.Strong capabilities in planning, organizing and process control.Must be familiar with computers and business software such as MS Office, Excel, CAD, and ERP software.Working ConditionsManufacturing environment.Maybe required to travel between Winnipeg plants.What’s in it For You?A company built on Canadian roots and heritageYour work is recognized with a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards ProgramOpportunities for career growth through numerous internal and external programsRecognize and be recognized by your peers with our Goose Rewards & ICON RewardsBe a part of CG Gives.
