Job description

IPS - ABBA Roller is seeking an Industrial Engineering student or recent graduate. This is an on-the-job supervised training position designed to prepare candidates for a future career in Industrial Engineering. The individual will perform various tasks supporting different company functions. This internship is expected to run from June 2nd to September 19th (16 weeks) and requires 20-30 hours of availability per week.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create visual work instructions to standardize build processes and reduce training time
• Perform time studies to optimize production lines and eliminate inefficiencies
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Collaborate with operators to improve shop floor organization and ergonomics
• Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for production
• Promote Lean principles across the facility
• Monitor and improve cycle times, ensure production meets TAKT times, and address variability causes
• Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment
• Contribute to team efforts and perform additional duties as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of company information
• Attend work punctually and regularly: 20 hours/week during academic quarters, full-time in summer

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (at least two years of study completed)
• 0-2 years relevant experience
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PLM, and Microsoft Office
