About Us

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited is the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada, serving the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. We produce a wide range of architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products, including bridge girders, wall panels, parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling, and deck slabs. Our facilities include 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick, and 50,000 sq.ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Additionally, we operate a 32,000 sq.ft. facility in Saint John for standard concrete products used in engineered drainage systems.

Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer will analyze operations, collaborate with personnel to design optimal workflows and processes, enhance efficiencies, and ensure that products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

1. Review production processes and procedures to foster continuous improvement.
2. Recommend and implement programs to improve production and maintenance processes.
3. Monitor market trends and technological advancements, recommending upgrades to management.
4. Assist in developing and monitoring maintenance control systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
5. Enhance quality control procedures to resolve production issues.
6. Conduct workflow and time studies to optimize throughput, capacity, and staffing, including creating digital plant models using simulation tools like Siemens Technomatic.
7. Develop and maintain KPIs related to quality and efficiency.
8. Share production efficiency analyses and develop process documentation.

Technical Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of machinery, processes, and standards.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Tekla Structures, Siemens Technomatic, and exposure to MRP software is an asset.
4. Experience or co-op placement in precast concrete is advantageous.
