Job description

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer on our Satellite Systems team in Montreal.

Role

The industrial engineer must cooperate with a multidisciplinary team in the continuous improvement of the company's processes. They ensure the consistency of processes across various work teams, designing and implementing tools used to assess the productivity of activities in corporate sectors. These activities impact the quality and efficiency of assembly and test operations for our space products. From the design phase until the clients receive the products, the engineer designs or reviews the processes used for advanced satellites, ensuring product quality by adhering to timelines and costs.

For various continuous improvement projects, the engineer communicates efficiently with other program management, design, procurement, test, quality assurance and assembly teams.

Tasks

• Manage and optimize processes
• Coordinate continuous improvement activities
• Ensure communication between the various players
• Be a positive initiator of change and suggest new concepts
• Improve quality and security in production and test areas
• Lead or take part in the development and implementation of corrective actions
• Understand and analyze all internal processes
• Follow the development of continuous improvement activities
• Take part in the development of various documents/processes

Required Qualifications

• Able to work in a team and to coordinate a team
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN principles and other methods related to improvement
• Able to quickly address various challenges
• Dynamic, proactive, detail-oriented, attentive to others

• Very good organizational and planning skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference for Industrial Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of MS Office and Visio
• Knowledge of FlexSim
• Experience in project management
• Experience in the aerospace sector

Comments / Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
