The Industrial Engineer is responsible for initiating changes to ensure the continuous improvement and optimization of our production methods, considering the human, economic and technical aspects of our organization. The tasks related to the role of Industrial Engineer can be diverse and require initiative, originality, creativity, and an excellent ability to lead teams to achieve the expected results.

Responsibilities

  • Work at optimizing production and assist in solving technical and operational problems.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Anticipate future needs and make recommendations to the team on future improvements to be implemented.
  • Perform work process analysis
  • Participate in the implementation of New Manufacturing Equipment:
  • Design layout and setup manufacturing workflow
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in the production ramp-up planning
  • Plant Layout Modification including analyzing current plant layout and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement new plant layouts to optimize production flow and efficiency. Ensure that all modifications comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Skills and Competencies

  • Focus on results and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage change.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, in French and English-written and oral.

    (Advanced level of English is required)

  • Other Requirements:

    Willingness to travel as needed and ability to travel to USA

    Experience and Training

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • Member of OIQ – an asset
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and industrial engineerin g.

    Proficiency in English is required for this role as approximately 50% of the responsibilities involve regular communication with stakeholders based in the United States and Europe.
