Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment required.
  • Experience working with PLCs is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Run new power supply lines to equipment as per standards.
  • Test electrical and electronic components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.

What we are looking for:

  • Registered Block 3 or 4 Apprentice
  • Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing
  • Experience working with PLC’s
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, tools and equipment
  • Familiarity of the basic functions of a Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred(SAP preferred)
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with people for problem solving, coaching, and work planning

In this role, you will:

  • Follow all safety rules and occupational health and safety act
  • Troubleshootand maintainproduction equipment, which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic systems
  • Workfrom wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and equipment specifications
  • Repairand replaceelectric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, and kind of switches, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, etc.
  • Make calculations for load requirements for circuits and chooses appropriate size and grade components
  • Run new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro codes and other applicable standards and regulations
  • Workto IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code and company codes
  • Wirenew control panels according to drawings, and verbal instructions under consideration of Hydro Codes and other applicable standards, and regulations
  • Locateand diagnoses faults on electrical equipment or systems which may involve complex interlocking or interrelated circuits.
  • Informelectrical coordinator about changes in electric circuits or updates the original diagrams
  • Workprimarily on voltages up to 575V
  • Maintainand adjusts electrical supply and production equipment to maximize operating performance
  • Helpto maintain electric spare part inventory levels in stock room
  • Maintainwork order and preventive/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms
  • Read and write electrical and electronic schematics as well as read basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
  • Install, examine, replace and repair electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
