Job summary

Johnson Electric in Ancaster, Ontario is seeking a skilled Electrician to maintain, repair, refurbish, and support production equipment on a full-time onsite basis.

You will troubleshoot CNC/PLC/robotic and automated assembly equipment, read electrical schematics, and ensure safety and reliability across manufacturing lines. A valid electrician certificate and apprenticeship are required.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid 442A and/or 309A Electrician Certificate of Qualification in good standing.
• Completion of a recognized Electrician Apprenticeship.
• 1–5 years of post-qualification industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting CNC, PLC, robotic, or automated assembly equipment in a high-volume production setting.
• Strong hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, refurbish, and support production equipment.
• Troubleshoot CNC, PLC, robotic and automated assembly equipment, VFDs, sensors, motor controls, and safety circuits.
• Repair, assemble, debug, install, and start up electrical and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Support planned maintenance and emergency breakdown response to minimize downtime.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams on new equipment installations, upgrades, and projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance effectiveness.
• Ensure all work complies with company Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Production Systems.
