THE ROLE

The Industrial Electrician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing large industrial electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial manufacturing and a working knowledge of many electrical components both old and new technology. This position is based at the Dundas Plant and will focus on minimizing downtime and increasing productivity. The role will be rotating between day, afternoon and night shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the maintenance staff, you will focus on minimizing downtime and the implementation of a preventative maintenance program, equipment troubleshooting and hands-on corrective actions.
  • Responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on processing equipment, minimizing downtime, and building repairs
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair large industrial electrical equipment
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, case assemblies and other electrical components, relay switches.
  • Working on high voltage electrical systems
  • Knowledge in PLC5, RS logic, RS view, Allen Bradley controls, Panel View, Device Net & Ethernet with a strong background in installations and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge with VFD's, starters and other automation devices
  • Promote and comply with Health and Safety regulations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Electrician (442A or 309A) ticket required
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in an industrial setting
  • Ability to work with electrical in large Industrial machines required
  • Vast knowledge of all areas of industrial electrical field including old and new technology
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and soft starts will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
