Job summary

Saltworks Technologies is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Richmond, BC. You will support electrical design from drawings through commissioning on customer sites, with mentorship from senior engineers, and help improve our projects and operations.

Role involves drafting, BOM generation, wiring diagrams, and field device configuration for 480/600V panels and 24V PLC panels, with opportunities to apply AI to engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial electrical environment.
• Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with electrical hardware catalogs and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical design drawings and other documentation including single line diagrams, load lists, and cable schedules.
• Support detailed design of 480/600V AC power panels and 24V DC PLC control panels.
• Generate BOMs and cable schedules based on equipment details.
• Prepare engineering deliverables meeting project requirements and standards with senior review.
• Assist with procurement and ensure parts are in place ahead of build schedule; resolve build inquiries.
• Support commissioning of control panels from 24V DC to 600V AC and perform pre-commissioning checks.
• Redline drawings for as-built changes and contribute to design workflow improvements.
• Leverage AI to improve design speed and quality.
