Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation Quality Inspection
Job Overview
We are recruiting an Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Inspection. As an Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation QC, you will play an important role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the electrical and instrumentation systems within industrial projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, testing, and validation of electrical and instrumentation installations to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to SRG's Quality Management System.
- Prepare the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) ensuring all quality control activities are identified, hold / witness points set, and approvals obtained from the Client and AI as required.
- Review and release all technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.) for work execution.
- Complete inspection and testing activities as directed by the client specifications or Site Superintendent.
- Review data obtained during inspection and testing activities to ensure conformity with company and client specifications and procedures.
- Control of nonconforming materials.
- Assist with the identification, control and resolution of nonconforming product and services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry codes and standards.
- Ensure all test equipment has up to date calibration certificates.
- Maintain a record of current red lines drawings.
- Conduct walk downs of construction systems to check for construction completion and turnover availability.
- Participate in audits of the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications and the applicable codes and standards.
- Ensure all inspections required by the PQP and ITPs are completed and documented appropriately.
Requirements
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certification or Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation Technician Certification.
- 5 years’ QA / QC experience working in industrial / construction / maintenance industry.
- Technical certifications.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret legal terminology found in such documents as contracts, government regulations and technical codes or standards.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be immediately eligible / able to work in Canada.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis.
