Role Overview

The Industrial Designer will design and engineer retail displays using metal, wood, and plastic, ensuring quality, manufacturability, and aesthetic appeal. The role involves working closely with various teams to develop concepts, specifications, and prototypes, with a good understanding of manufacturing processes like millwork, metal fabrication, vacuum forming, and injection molding.

Responsibilities

1. Design concepts for various display types based on customer requirements.
2. Develop specifications and 3D models using SolidWorks.
3. Review design requests and ensure completeness of information.
4. Prepare Bills of Materials and assist with prototypes.
5. Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
6. Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively.
7. Ensure designs meet project and customer objectives, controlling scope changes and delivering on time.
8. Provide complete CAD specifications for pricing, prototyping, and production.
9. Attend customer meetings and provide solutions to project challenges.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years in an industrial design role, specifically retail and POP displays.
2. Post-secondary degree in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, or equivalent experience.
3. Proficiency in SolidWorks (multi-body parts, sheet metal, weldments, GD&T).
4. Knowledge of Adobe CC Suite and Microsoft Office.
5. Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
6. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
7. CNC programming experience with MasterCAM is an asset.
