Job summary

Sureway Construction Group in Edmonton is looking for a Carpenter – Journeyman, 3rd and 4th Year to join our team at the Esso Refinery site. You will perform concrete formwork tasks, assist with flatwork, and adhere to strict safety standards on a heavy construction project.

The role requires a valid Journeyman Carpenter ticket and 3+ years of carpentry on commercial or industrial sites. Full-time seasonal schedule, with overtime after 10 hours/day or 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket for Carpentry.
• Experience as a carpenter on commercial or industrial site preferred.
• Flat work experience required and able to mix, pour, and spread construction materials.

Carpenter – Journeyman, 3rd and 4th Year

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 10 & 4 Monday to Thursday, OT after 10hr/day or 40hr/week

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle support
• Valid Driver’s License (non GDL)
• Flat work experience

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (urine-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Carpenter Responsibilities:

• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Carpenter Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket for Carpentry for Journeyman
• Must have 3 years’ experience as a carpenter on a commercial or industrial site.
• 3rd and 4th Year Apprentices will be considered for this position
• Flatwork experience required.
• Experience with concrete formwork.
• Mix, pour, and spread construction materials.
• Perform construction activities.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades as required.
• CSTS-2020, and H2S Awareness training is an asset.
