This is a part-time position that may lead to full-time employment at HearingLife Industrial, offering a great opportunity to work with knowledgeable and energetic professionals in the Hearing Conservation industry!

Your day will involve driving a mobile unit to job sites in the Okanagan area, testing workers' hearing, and counseling them on hearing protection. You will be the face of the company, often working independently but with support from a team reachable at all times.

Responsibilities
  1. Autonomy: Make decisions regarding rescheduling, additional testing, and vehicle/test unit issues.
  2. Client Service: Represent the HL brand professionally, ensure all testing is completed, and maintain a high standard of client interaction.
  3. Financial Accountability: Book accommodations within budget, document mileage, and manage expenses.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Education & Training: Must possess the BCIT Industrial Audiometric Technicians course (OCHS 3330) and re-certify as needed. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a truck and trailer (47 ft total length).
  • Previous Experience: Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Ability to inspect and maintain vehicle, monitor fuel and tire wear, understand electronics, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Job Specific Knowledge: Use of automated audiometers, follow WSBC protocols, and handle paperwork and data entry for WSBC portal.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Effort: Ability to sit and stand regularly during testing.
  • Mental and Sensory: Attention to detail for counseling and test result interpretation.
  • Decisions: Conduct oneself professionally and adhere to training protocols.
  • Work Environment: Independent work in quiet settings, temperature-controlled, often remote locations.
  • Business Travel: Extensive travel within BC, including remote sites, with shifts covering days, afternoons, nights, and occasional weekends and overnight stays, including travel by helicopter or boat.
