Athabasca University's Learning Services Tutorial Department is seeking an Individualized Study Tutor for the following course ending April 2026:
PSYC 200 - Introduction to Career Development
Qualifications and Experience Required: A minimum of a Master's degree required (PhD preferred) in career development theory and practice, both general (broad-based) and specific (career-focused). Degree credentials in psychology are preferred but applicants with degrees in other behavioural science disciplines will be considered.
The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise and be responsible for providing academic assistance to students, for marking assignments, and for assigning and recording final grades. Teaching experience at a post-secondary level is required. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies and online course delivery is preferred. Experience with adult education and Brightspaceonline course delivery is considered an asset.
Along with the relevant academic credentials as mentioned above, this position requires excellent communication, organizational, administration and online/computer skills. The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to maintain a high academic standard, maintain accurate student records, and return students' work promptly and within the University's required service standards. Candidates must own or have access to a computer and internet with the capability to communicate with the University and students and the capability to run any applications required to perform tutorial support. First consideration will be given to internal applicants according to Article 7 of The Board/CUPE Collective Agreement, followed by those candidates who are able to work from Alberta and then those who are able to work from within Canada.
Non-doctoral prepared employees: $243.25 prorated per block, per biweekly pay and/or $31.01 per hour.
Doctoral prepared employees: $252.98 prorated per block, per biweekly pay and/or $32.24 per hour.
