Job description

Athabasca University's Learning Services Tutorial Department is seeking an Individualized Study Tutor for the following course:

ANTH 272 – Time Travellers: Archaeologists at Work

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree required (PhD preferred) in Archaeology or Anthropology.
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise in archaeological methods and theory.
  • Experience in providing academic assistance, marking assignments, and recording final grades.
  • Teaching experience at a post-secondary level is required.
  • Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies and online course delivery is preferred.
  • Experience with adult education and Brightspace/D2L online course delivery is considered an asset.
Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, organizational, administrative, and online/computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain high academic standards and accurate student records.
  • Promptly return students' work within the University's service standards.
  • Own or have access to a computer and internet capable of supporting university communication and applications.

Compensation:

  • Non-doctoral prepared employees: $243.25 prorated per block, per biweekly pay, or $31.01 per hour.
  • Doctoral prepared employees: $252.98 prorated per block, per biweekly pay, or $32.24 per hour.
