Job summary

Civeo Water Canada Employees LP offers an Indigenous water operator apprentice program designed to train and mentor individuals for careers in water and wastewater operations. The role involves hands-on learning, safety training, and a rotation schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, with supervision by licensed operators.

The ideal candidate is Indigenous, has a Grade 12 diploma, and completes required training and certification steps while showing strong communication and mechanical aptitude

Qualifications

• Indigenous candidate is required for the apprenticeship.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Mandatory entry level training options (pick one).
• Entry Level Training Course (3 days) or self-paced learning options.
• Level I Certification Prep Course (4 days) or self-paced learning options.
• One year of work experience in a provincially recognized facility.
• Pass the Provincial Certification Exam.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform hands-on field work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's license and a clean driver abstract.
• Must pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily monitoring of potable water systems.
• Assist in operation and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems.
• Perform hands-on field work with long hours in remote locations.
• Learn tasks through training, paperwork, safety procedures, and teamwork.

Indigenous Water Operator Apprentice (Finance)

As an apprentice you will receive hands‑on training, and mentorship and structured learning to develop skills in water operations. This position will prepare you for a long‑term career in the water wastewater utility industry. The ideal candidate will assist in operating, maintaining and monitoring water systems while working under the supervision of licensed water wastewater operator. The successful applicant will follow a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily monitoring of Potable water systems.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems
• Ability to perform "hands‑on" field work, mastering physical demands and labor‑intensive tasks, while adapting to extended hours in remote locations.
• Commitment to learning and understanding tasks at each stage of the training program, encompassing paper‑work procedures, safety protocols, and the fostering of team and customer relations.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as compliance with health and safety regulations, always ensuring the maintenance of safe work practices.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Entry Level Training - AWWOA provides two options (only 1 is required
• Entry Level Training Course (3 days - virtual classroom -OR- self‑paced correspondence learning with online or home study options))
• Level I Certification Prep Course (4 days - in‑person -OR- self‑paced correspondence learning with online or home study options)
• One year of work experience in a Level I or higher Provincially recognized facility
• Pass the Provincial Certification Exam
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Positive attitude and a team-player.
• Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers license and driver abstract that meets company's Safe Vehicle Use policy.
• Must be able to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test
