A research organization in Winnipeg is seeking a Research Assistant for a 6-month term starting October 2025. The role involves conducting literature reviews, assisting in workshop planning, and drafting reports on government funding disparities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous non-profits. Candidates should have strong communication skills and research experience. Flexibility in working hours and some local travel may be required.
POSITION TYPE TERM (6 Months, Oct 2025 – Apr 2026), FULL-TIME
The Manitoba Research Alliance in partnership with the Winnipeg Indigenous Executive Circle (WIEC) are seeking a Research Assistant to support an investigative study comparing government funding received by Indigenous and non-Indigenous non-profit organizations in Winnipeg from the Province of Manitoba under the current NDP Government. This research aims to assess disparities in funding allocation and explore decision-making processes within non-Indigenous organizations that primarily serve Indigenous communities. The Research Assistant will be mentored by and work under the supervision of the lead researcher and collaborate with the lead researcher, WIEC members, government stakeholders, and community representatives to ensure a rigorous research methodology and access to necessary data.
