Job summary

Main Street Project in Winnipeg seeks a Director of Indigenous Relations to lead TRC and anti-oppression initiatives. You will guide Indigenous engagement, build respectful partnerships with communities and organizations, and support policy and programming aligned with harm reduction and cultural safety.

Applicants should have leadership in complex organizations, deep Indigenous knowledge, and a strong commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building partnerships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
• Deep understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities in Winnipeg.
• Experience leading complex organizations and guiding TRC-aligned initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead Indigenous relations strategy and advise MSP Board on TRC and anti-oppression.
• Facilitate Indigenous Leadership Circle meetings for programming and strategy.
• Review agency structure and capacity to improve operations.
• Support policy development and ensure respectful processes.
• Assist the Executive Director with Indigenous relations matters.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
• Report on relations with the Indigenous community.
