Indigenous Regional Service Coordinator

Location: Edmonton, AB

The First Nations Health Consortium Ltd. of Alberta (FNHC) is seeking to hire an Indigenous Regional Service Coordinator for our Edmonton, AB office.

In alignment with Jordan's Principle, the Consortium provides a service coordination role in Alberta for all First Nation children living on or off reserve. The coordinator acts as the link between First Nation children and the services or programs they need.

Reporting to a Team Lead, the Regional Service Coordinator will collaborate with First Nations children and their families to identify their needs and support them in accessing services from health, social, education professionals, vendors, and other resources within federal, provincial, and community sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ideal candidates will have an educational background in health, nursing, social work, or education. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  2. Proven experience working with First Nations organizations and communities.
  3. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  5. Experience in data collection, ensuring quality, consistency, and confidentiality.
  6. Proficiency with technology such as laptops, databases, PDFs, Outlook, etc.
  7. Experience in developing and maintaining electronic records and ensuring information security and privacy.
  8. Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. At least 2 years of experience in a similar or administrative role.
  2. A degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  3. Experience working with First Nations communities, with demonstrated cultural knowledge.
  4. Willingness and ability to travel for work purposes.
  5. Criminal Record Check, Child Welfare Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
  6. Confirmation of COVID-19 vaccinations.
