Job summary

Vale Base Metals is seeking an Innu Employment Coordinator to join the People and Community team at Voisey’s Bay Mine Site in Labrador. This permanent role involves a Monday–Friday schedule with travel to Innu communities and site visits to support Innu hiring and training preferences under the IBA with Innu Nation.

The role focuses on ensuring qualified Indigenous candidates are given first consideration for all employment and training opportunities, including translation support and community

Qualifications

• University degree related to community studies, business management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related position; mining or industrial setting preferred.
• Innu Nation membership is required to apply.
• Fluency in English and strong cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist recruitment to hire Innu Nation members for job openings and training opportunities.
• Assist Talent Acquisition and site Contractors in identifying qualified Indigenous employees.
• Attend Innu candidate interviews and provide translation in Innu Amun when needed.
• Coordinate and facilitate events onsite in Voisey’s Bay and Innu communities.
• Network with Innu Nation to source interested candidates.
• Identify barriers for Innu employees and improve retention.
• Travel to Innu communities to visit schools and hold public meetings regarding work and related topics.
