Fraser Health in British Columbia is seeking an Indigenous Elders Activity Worker based in Chilliwack Health Protection, with travel to Agassiz Area and Fraser Canyon. You will deliver wellness and social activities for Indigenous Elders and work with the Recreation Therapist to tailor programs.
You will also assist with intake, record keeping, and basic food preparation as part of program support, while promoting participation and ensuring safety and culturally respectful care.
The salary range for this position is CAD $29.76 - $31.64 / hour
Primary site: Chilliwack Health Protection but requires travel to Agassiz Area and Fraser Canyon.
The Indigenous Elders Activity Worker provides services to the Indigenous Elders Activity Program by implementing and participating in wellness and/or social activities. Provides demonstrations, promotes client participation in activities and provides feedback. In collaboration with the Recreation Therapist, adapts and modifies established activities to meet the specific needs of clients. Assists with client intake including inputting client information into relevant databases.
Education, Training, and Experience: Grade 12, completion of a recognized Activity Assistant Program or Care Attendant Certificate; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certificates in First Aid, CPR and Food Safe. Experience working with Elders and in Indigenous community health.
Valid Class IV BC Drivers License and personal vehicle for work related purposes.
