New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults, and Families is seeking a Good Relative to provide guidance and cultural-based support to Indigenous youth and adults. You will engage in in-office or land-based activities, support staff with holistic programs, and build connections with ceremonial communities to foster identity and belonging.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling preferred.
• Extensive experience with Indigenous communities.
• Knowledge of Indigenous teachings, culture and ceremonies.
• Experience delivering physical, psychological and social supports to at-risk populations preferred.
• Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Build connections with organizations in Manitoba serving Indigenous peoples.
• Consult and provide transition opportunities to culturally-based resources.
• Develop and facilitate culturally based teachings and activities.
• Provide 1-1 and group support/mentoring.
• Coordinate ceremonies and celebrations.
• Observe, evaluate and document daily events for support planning.
• Review individual support plans to align with cultural supports.
• Maintain confidential records and program documentation.
• Adhere to Manitoba Child & Family Services requirements, including reporting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services.
