Qualifications

  • Actuarial designation in progress.

Job Description

Reporting to the Indication Manager, the Indication Consultant executes and manages indication projects supporting insurance pricing using actuarial and statistical standards. Collaborating with provincial pricing teams and business partners, the role involves executing pricing, modeling, and product strategies to meet business goals.

Accountabilities
  • Perform complex analysis using actuarial or statistical modeling techniques, documenting and evaluating methods to inform decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to improvements and innovation, serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Manage and contribute to moderate to high complexity projects independently.
  • Communicate technical results to management and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality of data and appropriate tool utilization for actuarial services.
  • Leverage understanding of insurance products, markets, and regulations in strategy development.
  • Mentor less experienced team members.
  • Perform indications and peer reviews for property and auto lines.
  • Lead projects to improve efficiency and automation in the indication process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of property and casualty pricing/reserving/modeling experience.
Certifications
  • Actuarial designation in progress.
Skills
  • Proficiency with various tools, data sources, and applications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in predictive modeling and programming.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, pricing, risk management, and regulations.
  • Project management skills.
  • Leadership in team environments.
