Job summary

Edgewood Nanaimo Treatment Centre is seeking a qualified Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to provide professional massage therapy services to patients at our treatment centre. The RMT will deliver individualized, client-centred care that supports physical wellness, relaxation, stress management, and recovery.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the treatment centre’s clinical team while maintaining professional independence and adhering to all applicable regulatory

Qualifications

• Registered Massage Therapist with CCHPBC in good standing.
• Current professional liability insurance.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience with mental health or substance use is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients and evaluate conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver massage techniques (deep tissue, Swedish, sports, trigger point, myofascial release, relaxation).
• Maintain confidential treatment records and notes.
• Educate clients on self-care and wellness practices.
• Collaborate with clinical team to support integrated care.
• Maintain hygiene, safety, and infection prevention procedures.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and policies.
• Maintain professional boundaries in a residential setting.
• Participate in orientation, training, and organizational initiatives.
