Charles River Laboratories in Senneville, QC is seeking an Animal Health Technician for the Toxicology team. You will be responsible for the well-being of laboratory animals and the integrity of pre-clinical studies, including administering medications, collecting samples, and recording data.

The role offers a full-time schedule with rotating weekends and holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package. Salary starts at $23.75 per hour with evening, weekend, overtime and holiday premiums.

Job Overview

As an Animal Health Technician for our Toxicology team at the Senneville location, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In This Role, Primary Responsibilities Include

• Administer test items / medications to animals (Gavage, intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous injections);
• Perform sample collection (blood, urine, etc.);
• Collect data (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.);
• Handle animals for any activities that requires it;
• Clean all types of animal housing and accessories.

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Role Specific Information

• Location: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1;
• Transportation: We offer a shuttle service from Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. In addition, the site is accessible from the Anse-à-l’Orme REM station via STM bus services. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station
• Salary: $23.75 per hour with primes of;
  • Evenings: $2.50;
  • Weekend: $2.75;
  • Overtime: Time and a half;
  • Holidays: Double time;
• Annual bonus based on performance;
• Schedule: Full time regular schedules: Mostly during the day, rotating weekends, and holidays. Depending on needs, there may be extra time in the evening or at night;
• Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
