Job summary

Fairmont Banff Springs is recruiting an In‑Room Dining Manager to lead a luxury dining team within a Forbes Five‑Star and LQA accredited resort in Banff. You will drive personalized guest experiences, coaching a dedicated team, and ensuring service excellence across all in‑room dining operations.

You will oversee breakfast, all‑day dining, overnight service, amenities and VIP requests while managing budgets, schedules and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in Food & Beverage leadership, with luxury hotel or upscale restaurant experience.
  • Experience managing In-Room Dining, Restaurant or Luxury Hotel F&B operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Forbes Five‑Star and LQA standards; Forbes-rated property experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop and inspire high‑performing teams.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, labour management and cost control.
  • Excellent wine, spirits, VIP service and guest recovery knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the In‑Room Dining team to deliver luxury service aligned with standards.

In‑Room Dining Manager

As the In‑Room Dining Manager, you will lead one of the most personalized luxury dining experiences within Fairmont Banff Springs, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the exceptional service, elegance, and genuine care expected of a Forbes Five‑Star and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) luxury resort.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, you will provide visionary leadership to a highly engaged team while driving operational excellence, financial performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. Through visible leadership, coaching, and an unwavering commitment to luxury hospitality, you will cultivate a culture where colleagues are empowered to anticipate guest needs, personalize every experience, and consistently exceed expectations.

This role is responsible for creating memorable guest journeys while maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, presentation, cleanliness, colleague engagement, and operational execution.

Competitive Salary

$81,000–$83,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education.

Job Duties Include
  • Lead and inspire the In‑Room Dining team to deliver exceptional luxury service aligned with Fairmont, Forbes Five‑Star and LQA standards by fostering a culture of personalized hospitality, visible leadership, colleague engagement, coaching, development and succession planning.
  • Oversee all aspects of the In‑Room Dining operation, including breakfast, all‑day dining, overnight service, amenities, VIP deliveries and special requests, while ensuring the highest standards of service, food quality, presentation, cleanliness, operational efficiency and compliance with health, safety and brand standards.
  • Drive an outstanding guest experience by monitoring guest feedback, quality audits and reputation metrics, resolving guest concerns with professionalism and care, collaborating with cross‑functional departments, and implementing continuous improvements that enhance the overall luxury guest journey.
  • Manage departmental financial and operational performance by overseeing labour and payroll, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, productivity, revenue generation and luxury upselling initiatives while achieving departmental revenue and profitability goals.
  • Champion operational excellence and continuous improvement through regular inspections, team briefings, performance analysis, quality assurance, process enhancements and strategic leadership that empowers colleagues, strengthens accountability and consistently exceeds guest expectations.
Your Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience, including 3 years in a management role within a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant.
  • Previous experience managing In‑Room Dining, Restaurant or Luxury Hotel Food & Beverage operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of Forbes Five‑Star and LQA standards; experience in a Forbes‑rated property is an asset.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to coach, develop and inspire high‑performing teams.
  • Strong financial knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, labour management and cost control.
  • Excellent knowledge of luxury food and beverage service, including wine, spirits, VIP service and guest recovery.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Silverware POS, Opera PMS or similar hospitality systems is an asset.
  • ProServe Certification required (or ability to obtain); post‑secondary education in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
