Job summary

University of Calgary invites applications for a Winter 2027 term ERTH 209 Sessional Instructor to deliver two 3-unit courses in person.

The successful candidate will lecture and manage course components for ERTH 209 - Introduction to Earth, with emphasis on engaging students and applying best practices in assessment; a MSc in Geoscience or related field is required, with D2L experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must have MSc in Geoscience or related field.
• Experience with Desire2Learn (D2L) and assessment best practices is preferred.
• Post-secondary teaching experience is advantageous.
• Candidates with broad Geoscience expertise and enthusiasm for teaching diverse students are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lecture instruction for two 3-unit courses (L01 & L02).
• Manage course components and overall course delivery, in person.
• Contribute to assessments, student engagement, and course administration.
